What it is
Candidates practise a real interview out loud. The interviewer listens, pushes back and follows up, then a scorecard shows exactly where each answer broke, quoting the candidate’s own words.
What was hard
- A conversation, not a chatbot
- Live voice with real turn-taking: the interviewer waits while you think, handles interruptions, and doesn’t talk over half-finished answers.
- Feedback you can check
- Every point on the scorecard quotes what the candidate actually said. Code verifies each quote against the transcript before it is shown, so the AI can’t put words in anyone’s mouth.
- Coaching that doesn’t distract
- In-interview cues were cut down to four triggers, based on research showing that more feedback during a task often makes performance worse.
- AI costs under control
- Language models were moved between providers when a cheaper one held up in testing, with scoring drift measured before switching.
