Questions
- What is a local AI app?
- A desktop app where the AI model runs on the user’s own Mac or PC instead of on someone else’s servers. Their files and prompts never leave the machine, and nothing is metered.
- Can a normal laptop run it?
- Most recent ones can. Macs with Apple silicon and Windows PCs with 16 GB of memory run capable models well. We size the model to each machine, and we tell you honestly where the limits are.
- Does it work on phones?
- Not yet for anything serious. Phones don’t have the memory for models that are genuinely useful, so we build for desktops and, where needed, add a light phone companion.
- How do I charge for it?
- Usually a one-time licence with activation keys. With no AI bill per user, a single payment can cover a customer for good, which is the pitch against monthly competitors.
